RULES

Teams to bring their own cooking device, utensils, tent, etc. Built-on-Site ovens & gas type ovens are NOT permitted.

At time of sampling, the meat must be at a minimum 145 degrees Fahrenheit. For safety reasons, a team may be disqualified if the meat is not fully cooked.

Ash kits to be provided. Teams must bring flat shovels for proper disposal.

Judging will be based on theme/originality, taste and skin/chicharron.

Children ARE NOT allowed near cooking devices/area!! Repeated offenses could lead to disqualification.

Team will provide a sample size portion of meat and skin/chicharron for judging, serving will be provided.

Cookoff Day Schedule will be provided closer to the event date.

Pigs must be ready for presentation & judging at a designated time (TBD).
THEME GUIDELINES

Each team will be given a preparation/serving area measuring at least 10'x15' in size.

The theme should not exceed the width of this space.

Teams are encouraged to be as creative as possible within their spaces.

Please use your best judgement when designing and selecting your team’s themes. It is a family event.

The St Brendan Men’s Ministry reserves the right to reject any application. No refunds of entry fee will be made once a team has been accepted into the contest. Any photographs or videos authorized or taken by St Brendan Elementary of a team on site may be used for promotional purposes. Contestant agrees to indemnify and hold the Saint Brendan Elementary Cookoff Committee, The St Brendan Men’s Ministry (SBMM) and the St Brendan Catholic Church, its employees, agents and volunteers harmless from any and all claims made against same, including without limitation, all costs, liabilities, judgments, expenses, damages or reasonable attorney’s fees arising out of or in connection with (i) any apparatus, equipment, or personal property used by Contestant (s), (ii) any act or omission to act of Contestant(s), its agents, invitees, participants, representatives, employees, servants, and assigns, and (iii) any claims made on account or resulting from Contestant’s participation in the contest. By participating in the Saint Brendan Elementary Cookoff, I agree to abide by all Rules and Regulations contained in the application.
